As you probably know there are tons of different golf carts available and it can be difficult to choose which one will be the perfect match. I’m going to tell you a little about the Bag Boy golf cart but I also believe that a golf cart is an individual choice and that even though this cart is great it might not be right for you.

I went to the company’s website and found that the have been producing golf carts for more than 54 years. Now I’m sure they didn’t start out producing the bag boy golf cart but somewhere along the way they got a good idea and ran with it.

From one of the press releases they did I can see that they have a few options that they recommend you to have a look at.

Z-2 Stand bag

With the Z-2 Stand Bag you’ll get the Zip-to-Fit™ Removable Pocket System. This will allow you to customize the pockets of the bag to meet your individual needs while still offering the lightest load possible. When you have all the pockets attached, the bag weighs only five pounds.

Lite Rider Cart Bag

The Lite Rider Cart Bag is the lightest cart bag that you’ll find on the market today. The company designed it for the player who pulls or rides a golf cart, yet wants a bag that is lightweight and convenient to transport to and from the course. If you have tried to drag a heavy golf bag around a court for a whole day you know why you want a light bag (or a bag boy golf cart).

To finish off I found this test that I think you should look into. The results of these golf trivia questions are quite surprising.

When you’re searching for golf carts for kids there is almost no way around the Dexton Big Driver Golf Cart and the smaller Lil Driver Golf Cart. Both of them are motorized golf carts powered by a battery much like what you see in normal golf carts except that they are a lot less powerful.

Normally kids’ golf carts are meant for children in the age between 3 to 7 years old but since these machines are motorized it is strongly advised that parent consider whether the child will be able to handle the cart without getting hurt.

Normally the primary reason for purchasing a golf cart for kids is for them to drive around the golfing range with their parents and if not on the golfing range, then in the garden at home. Kids love to imitate their parents and if mom and/or dad drives a golf cart they’ll want to do the same.

Types of Golf Carts for Kids

Now I have already mentioned the Dexton Driver Golf Carts but that doesn’t mean that they are the only once out there. However they are one of the major players and because of that I’ll stick with discussing what options you have if you’ll want one of their cart models.

You can choose between the Big Driver model which is meant for the bigger kids and the Lil Driver model that is designed for the younger ones.

The Big Driver golf cart is powered by a battery and comes with two gears. The cart will drive with a speed of 2.5 mph in the low gear and 5.0 mph in the high gear. It has a load capacity of 90 lbs and comes equipped with both a cup holder and a sounding horn. The Big Driver is suited for two kids to ride it as one time.

The Lil Driver golf cart is also powered by a battery but with a lot less strength. Where the Big Driver had a 12 volt battery the little driver only has a 6 volt battery. This means that it can only drive one speed and that is 2.5 mph. It has a loading capacity of 65 lbs and is only suited for one kid riding it.

Kids’ Golf Cart Pricing

Electric golf carts for kids are naturally a lot cheaper that it’s grownup counterpart. Where adult golf carts can easily cost thousands of dollars you’ll be able to buy the Big Driver models from new at prices around $400-$500 and probably a lot cheaper if you buy them as used.

The Lil Driver models are around $200-$300 from new but again you’ll be able to find it at a lesser price if you buy a used model. One of the best places to find good deals for the Dexton golf carts are at ebay. At the time of writing there were several deals at almost half price so be sure to check that option out.

As for colors you’ll find the Big Driver golf cart in white and red and the Lil Driver in white and pink. There might be other colors available but I haven’t been able to locate them.

Where to Buy a Golf Cart for Kids

Again I strongly suggest that you check out ebay because you’ll find some golf carts for kids that has hardly been used but with great savings. But if you do want a new cart I strongly suggest that you take a look at this online sporting shop. They are very fairly priced and you’re able to read customer reviews of each product before you purchase anything.

Click Here to go to ebay for used kids golf carts

At the very first glance I am very impressed with the Buggies Unlimited website. The design looks really great and there are a lot of features. That is a great start but I want to dig a little deeper to see what lies beneath the surface.

From the “About Us” page I find that the founder is Bart Mahan and that he and his team have built the largest supplier of golf cart gear. When people talk about themselves as “the largest” or “the best” I’m always a bit curious as to how they’re measuring that. I’m sure that they have competitors that are stating the exact same thing. But for this review it’s not that important.

The Buggies Unlimited Golf Carts Help

One of the first features that I noticed on the website was that it had an Online Chat option. Personally I am a big advocate for a feature like that and especially when you have a site with more that thousand products. So I thought that I would test the support feature since it said to be “online”.

Within less than a minute I had Angela on the line. She was very helpful and she answered the few questions that I had lined up fairly quickly. I’m not sure whether she is actually working for Buggies Unlimited or she just works in a call center, but she did have a Buggies email so maybe she is an employee. If that is the case it is just an additional plus.

The Selection of Golf Cart Accessories

What may seem as a great feature at Buggies Unlimited is also a disadvantage. I went back to the homepage and wanted to find some accessories for golf carts. Honestly I found that the site was way too crowded. Because it is loaded with tons of categories both in the top menu bar and in the left side navigation bar I didn’t know where to begin or where to end.

For a webshop that is not a great thing. I believe that Buggies already knows this because they have placed a fairly large search box in the very top of the screen. Unfortunately it isn’t as visible as you could want because the huge toll-free phone number is taking up the spotlight.

20 headline navigational menu links (and some of them even have sub categories) and +60 (I stopped counting) categories down the left side is just over the top. I know that Buggies Unlimited wants to show that they have a huge selection of products but doing it this way will only scare people away.

According to expert analysis done the results was that a menu should have between 5-7 links before adding a heading to “break” the layout. Maybe Buggies Unlimited should give it some consideration.

Instead of trying to find a category for accessories I tried to use the search functionality in the top. I decided to search for the term “golf cart accessories” as that was what I was looking for.

Can you guess what the result was? NOTHING!! It seems that the search functionality isn’t working.
From the picture you can see that it seems like the search cuts off the last “s” and that might be the problem but I can say for sure. No matter what that search option is really going to cost them a lot of money if they don’t fix it soon.

Instead I tried to search for “Yamaha Golf Cart Wheel”. Again the result was blank! It is hard to guess on actual figures but I think that it is fair to say that Buggies Unlimited are losing tens of thousands of dollars on this account.

I Finally Gave Up

Could it really be possible that the world’s largest golf cart accessories shop did not have tires for a Yamaha golf cart? I figures that if I tried under the top menu called “parts/maintenance” and tried the sub category called “parts – Yamaha” then there had to be some tires, right? Nope! I was presented with a huge list that I even had to scroll to see the bottom of and still there were no tires.

What started out being a positive impression has left me frustrated and irritated and I’m sure that I’m not the only one. If anyone from Buggies Unlimited should come by and read this I suggest that you hire a webmaster that knows how to design (AND test) a webshop. The shop has a huge potential and I’m sure that they would be able to increase their revenue with 50% – 100% percent (minimum) if they got professional help.

Right now all they have is a huge pile of products that are hard to sort through and me as an irritated “no longer potential” customer. The final verdict is: Not Passed Until Fixed!

You have many options when shopping for golf carts and the most commonly used and also the first solution invented was the electric golf cart. Basically an electrical cart is one that is powered by a battery and has an electric motor.

There are many advantages of electrical golf carts but one of the major advantages, besides the fact that it is better for the environment, is that it is not as powerful as the gas driven counterpart. As it runs on electricity you will need to charge the battery before use and it is therefore always advised to have a spare battery that is fully charged in case you have forgotten to plug it in.

The electrical golf cart normally comes in two different types. The cheaper option is actually more of a golf bag on wheels whereas the more expensive and more luxurious version is an electrical car. Depending on your golfing needs and your wallet you can have great benefit from both options.

The Cheaper Electric Golf Cart

As you can see from the picture on the left the least expensive electrical golf cart is basically a normal cart driven by a small electrical motor. On the handle is a small grip that when pressed will make the cart move forward at a steady walking pace.

An additional advantage of this version is that besides not being as hard on your wallet it still let’s you get the exercise of walking around the court but without hurting your back by carrying the heavy golf bag.

Further down in the article I’ll give you a few suggestions as to where you can find some great offers on this type of cart.

Price ranges for this type of cart is about $200 – $400 depending on the brand and whether it is a new or a used model.

The Luxury Electrical Golf Carts

As I mentioned earlier the cart also comes in a more luxurious and more expensive version. You can say that it is actually no longer a “cart” but rather a “car” as it comes with a steering wheel, multiple seats and a roof. You won’t get much exercise from using these but that might actually be part of the “luxury”.

The car models are also powered by an electrical battery but a somewhat larger one of its kind. There are normally four different battery types: 24 volt, 36 volt, 48 volt and 72 volt. The 36 volt and 48 volt golf carts are the most commonly used types and of the two the 48 volt cart will have the greater momentum and power.

Early on the biggest problem of the battery driven golf carts were that the batteries would only last for a few hours of use but these days new technology has greatly improved the range and the longevity. Additionally changing the battery has become really easy and it is therefore always advised to pack an additional fully charged one in the cart.

Price ranges for this type of electrical golf carts are about $1,800 – $8,000 and some of them can cost far more than that.

Where to Look for an Electric Golf Cart

There are lots of places to look for both the cheaper models as well as the more expensive models. I’m not going to go into details about specific retailers in this article – for that I recommend that you visit the Golf Cart Dealers section. But one place that I do recommend that you check out before making your final decision is eBay.

Most of the carts you’ll find there will be used models but some of them have hardly ever been taken for a drive and you can save 30-50% compare to buying a new model so it is definitely worth checking out.
